Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 September 2026
LeaveOnTime (“we”) runs LeaveOnTime. This policy explains what personal data we use, why, and your rights. Contact: support@leaveontime.com.
What we collect
- Account: name, email, password (stored only as a secure hash), timezone, and when you accepted these terms.
- Trips and places: the places, times and travel modes you save, and the routes we calculate.
- Location: only while the app is open and you have allowed it — to show you on the map, plan from where you are, and detect when you leave and arrive. We keep your latest position and the departure/arrival times of your trips, not a continuous track.
- Devices: the push notification address of each device where you turned notifications on.
- Phone number: only if you turn on SMS reminders.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We receive the plan, amount and status, never your full card number.
- Technical: IP address and basic logs for security (for example to stop password guessing).
Why (legal basis)
- To provide the service you asked for (contract): planning trips, reminders, sharing, billing.
- With your consent: location, notifications and SMS. You can withdraw it at any time in your phone or browser settings or in the app.
- Legitimate interests: security, preventing abuse, and improving predictions using statistics about how accurate they were.
- Legal obligations: keeping invoices and payment records.
Who we share it with
Only the providers needed to run the service, under data-processing terms: our hosting provider; Stripe (payments); Brevo (email); our SMS provider (SMS reminders); Apple, Google, Mozilla or Microsoft push services (notifications); and route/address services (TomTom, OpenStreetMap-based services such as Photon, Nominatim, OSRM, Valhalla and Transitous), which receive the start and end points of routes but not your name. When you share a trip, the person you send it to sees its details after accepting. We never sell your data.
How long we keep it
As long as you have an account. When your account is deleted, we erase your personal data (places, trip locations, phone number and messages). We keep anonymous statistics such as trip times and durations. Payment records are kept as required by tax law.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, object to or restrict its use, and complain to your data protection authority. Email us to exercise these rights.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies: to keep you signed in and to protect forms. No advertising or tracking cookies.
